Massive Insomnia, Fun Facts

My wondrous bout with insomnia continues, as this is the 11th night in the past 17 when I have been unable to sleep. Usually I take 10 days of insomnia per month.

Harvey’s got fun facts about the state of Maryland up now. I have to agree with him on the flag. I still haven’t figured that one out. There are a few he missed though.

*The state animal of Maryland is Gary Williams.

*Even though the resolution to change the state’s name to Garyland was defeated, t-shirts are still available.
*Maryland was founded as a haven for persecuted Catholics to escape annoying northerners. Ironically, that’s how I got here.

*The state sport of Maryland is lacrosse, which is French for “Don’t make us climb backbone mountain.”

*The highest point in Maryland is now being referred to as Hoye Crest because when they hear “Backbone Mountain”, New Englanders frequently ask if Heath Ledger’s around.

*He may very well be.

*Old Bay Seasoning is a blend of herbs and spices very popular in the state of Maryland. It is commonly used to season crab, shrimp, and fries. Asking where to find Young Bay is Maryland’s only capital offense.

*It’s actually pronounced Murlin. I still haven’t got the hang of that one.

*Prince George’s County is the richest black-majority county in America. This is ironic, since it borders Washington DC and we all know how much George Bush hates black people.

*The town is not named after Chevy Chase. Chevy Chase named himself after the town.

*John Roberts is from Chevy Chase. Do you even remember who John Roberts IS?

*This hasn’t helped my insomnia one bit.

Also known as Winter Cherry and Indian Ginseng, Ashwagandha is one of the most valuable herbs in the Ayurvedic medical system, dating back more than 3,000 years. Its Sanskrit name Ashwagandha literally means ‘that which has the smell of a horse’, so named because it is said to give the strength and vitality of a horse. Ashwagandha is specific for a wide range of conditions including arthritic inflammation, anxiety, insomnia, respiratory disorders, nervous disorders, gynecological disorders, male infertility and impotence.,
